The Yellow Dot Program

People’s United Bank is introducing a program to our area similar to the popular “Vial of Life” called THE YELLOW DOT PROGRAM.

The program is designed to aid First responders and EMS personnel when responding to geriatric patients who experience a medical emergency while in their personal automobile.

Seniors fill out a yellow card containing personal and medical information and attach a current photo to assure proper patient identification. The card is then stored in their glove compartment where it can be quickly found and used should they be unable to communicate. A circular yellow sticker, a “Yellow Dot”, (below) affixed to left side of the rear window of their vehicle identify it as one carrying a card.

Program utilization and EMS awareness could have a significant impact on patient care.
